Qualifications

• Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience (10+ years).

• Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash management.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and finance function, reporting to CEO.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, risk management, banking and audit relationships.
• Develop scalable accounting organization and internal controls; centralize billing as planned.
• Support acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Reporting to the CEO of a privately held logistics company headquartered in North Carolina, with a strong platform for continued expansion through organic growth and acquisition. The organization provides time critical freight solutions.

The VP Finance will lead the company's accounting and finance function while partnering closely with ownership and operational leadership. The role will oversee financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, treasury, risk management, banking and audit relationships, and the continued development of the accounting organization. A key priority will be strengthening internal controls and establishing scalable financial processes, including the planned centralization of billing within the accounting function. The VP Finance will also support acquisition due diligence and integration as the company continues to expand.

Required Experience:

• Progressive accounting and finance experience, into a senior financial leadership role (10+ years)
• Experience as a Controller, VP of Finance, or similar role with responsibility beyond traditional accounting and financial reporting
• Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, treasury, and internal controls.
• Experience developing and implementing financial processes and controls within a dynamic environment
• Experience partnering directly with owners, executives, and operational leaders.
• Leadership experience with proven ability to grow a team
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Location: Asheville, NC or Charlotte, NC (relocation assistance)
