Vice President of Finance

A private, private-equity-backed services organization that recently transitioned from family ownership to institutional leadership is hiring a Vice President of Finance to join its executive team. With approximately $8M in current revenue and strong near‑term growth, this newly created role will play a critical part in building scalable finance infrastructure and supporting the company’s next phase of expansion.

The Opportunity

This is a hands‑on finance leadership role overseeing accounting and FP&A in a service‑based, labor‑intensive, and seasonal environment. You’ll partner closely with Private Equity leadership during this period of transformation to drive financial visibility, operational discipline, and long‑term scalability. The role offers significant influence, exposure, and growth potential as the business scales organically and through acquisitions. The position is currently fully in‑person due to the transition, with potential for future flexibility.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, invoicing, close, and financial reporting
  • Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes and strengthen controls
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and working capital management
  • Deliver financial reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and sales pipeline analysis to leadership
  • Partner with operations on workforce planning, pricing, margin analysis, and job performance
  • Lead the selection and implementation of a new financial system to replace a legacy platform
  • Manage and develop a small finance and administrative team
  • Serve as primary liaison with external accountants, tax advisors, and ownership
  • Support strategic initiatives, including growth planning and acquisition readiness
Ideal Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
  • Strong background in financial reporting, forecasting, and operational finance
  • Proven experience leading accounting system or software implementations
  • Hands‑on, adaptable leader comfortable in a transitioning, PE‑backed environment
  • Experience in service‑based, labor‑intensive, or seasonal businesses, preferred
