Job description

RealPage is seeking a world-class VP Engineering; an inspiring leader who can plan, direct, coordinate, and scale our Engineering department to achieve our aggressive multi-product, international expansion plans. To be successful, you'll need to bolster our culture of excellence and effectively recruit top engineering talent into senior roles. As a permanent member of our senior leadership team, you'll also bring your technical expertise to bear on strategic business planning and partner with our CPO on the development of our product roadmap.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be tasked and be resourced to successfully lead Engineering team, so that engineering becomes a cornerstone of our core business competency.
• Develop an engineering roadmap with your architect and senior engineers, so that our service environment becomes more performant, scalable, reliable, and secure over time.
• Mature and reinforce engineering standards through our SDLC, improving design, code, release, and operations quality.
• Prioritize Engineering efforts across competing initiatives, so that the team consistently meets product delivery and engineering project milestones.
• Partner with HR to recruit and retain top engineering talent in key roles, so that high quality decision making and execution is distributed throughout your teams.
• Develop and garner buy-in from business and Engineering stakeholders, to support the technology strategy you envision for our company.
• Serve as a partner to other members of the senior leadership team, bringing your technical expertise and business acumen to strategic planning and execution.
• Build effective partnerships with material service providers, to optimize service optimization, operational support, and cost.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

• 8+ years experience in senior engineering leadership roles, preferably in at least one multi-product SaaS experiencing substantial growth with 70+ engineers.
• Computer Science or other Engineering degree
• Exposure to PropTech or FinTech engineering
• Experience engineering for, and safeguarding, regulated information
• A contagious passion for engineering excellence, capable of inspiring engineers to deliver robust, performant, and extensible solutions to business requirements.
• Direct technical experience with a wide-variety of common SaaS technologies and service providers, providing sufficient background to explore technical solutions with architects and senior engineers.
• Repeated success in architecting, planning, and / or executing platform modernization initiatives.
