Job summary

AHLA in Washington, DC seeks a Vice President, Conferences and Events to lead the planning, management, and delivery of the association's conference portfolio. The role is hands-on, coordinating internal teams, partners, vendors, and sponsors to ensure exceptional attendee experiences and revenue goals.

Responsibilities include program development, vendor management, budgeting, site selection, travel to events, and on-site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in strategic conference, event, or association event management.
• Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute AHLA/F’s events portfolio with clear objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Lead assigned conferences and events with accountability across stakeholders.
• Shape event experiences to grow engagement and attendance year over year.
• Oversee event logistics, speaker coordination, vendor contracts, and site research.
• Develop budgets, track expenses, and provide post-event evaluations.
• Travel to events and attend planning meetings as needed.
