Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Eatontown, NJ is seeking an Event Coordination professional to plan and run multiple experiential activities and children's events. You will engage customers of all ages, demonstrate crafts, and oversee event add-ons while coordinating with store teams.

Role requires strong people skills, retail/customer service background, and the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills.
• Experience working with children and childrens' events.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Good communication including written, verbal, and nonverbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at once, including childrens' birthday parties and craft classes.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as emails, calls and paperwork.
• Set up, break down and clean before and after each event; ensure safety and cleanliness.
