Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County in Mukwonago, WI is seeking a part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead adult fitness classes under the direction of the Fitness Director. You will deliver energizing, safe, and engaging sessions while upholding the Y’s core values and promoting wellness within the community.

Responsibilities include completing training, maintaining safety standards, building member relationships, and encouraging participation in YMCA programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience leading/instructing fitness classes preferred.
• Outside certifications may be required for certain formats prior to hire.
• Ability to teach more than one format is preferred – cross training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete all training provided and practice skills before leading adult fitness classes.
• Safely lead energizing, fun, effective group classes as directed by the Fitness Director.
• Build rapport with members and encourage participation in YMCA programs and campaigns.
• Answer member questions to support healthy living goals and stay informed on wellness trends.
• Follow all YMCA policies and safety procedures; report incidents as needed.
• Promote YMCA programs and events and encourage regular class participation.
• Maintain accurate class attendance records and proper care of audio/studio equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned.
