Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a dynamic, health-focused individual to lead group fitness classes at West Suburban YMCA in Wauwatosa, WI. Under the direction of the Fitness Director, you will deliver energizing, safe adult fitness sessions and help members achieve their wellness goals.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, 18+, and experience leading fitness classes. Some formats may require outside certifications; cross-training is provided to teach multiple formats.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience leading/instructing fitness classes preferred.
• Certifications for specific formats may be required prior to hire.
• Ability to teach more than one format is preferred – cross training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required training and lead adult fitness classes as directed.
• Safely deliver energizing, fun, and effective group classes to support the YMCA mission.
• Build rapport with members and encourage participation in YMCA programs and campaigns.
• Answer member questions to support healthy living goals and stay updated on wellness trends.
• Follow all YMCA policies and safety procedures and report incidents as needed.
• Promote programs and events and encourage regular class participation.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and care for audio/studio equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned.
