Job summary

ABB is seeking a VFD Support Specialist in Wisconsin to provide expert technical assistance for ABB Variable Frequency Drives and related systems. The role blends customer support with engineering collaboration and warranty coordination, in a hybrid setup based in New Berlin, WI, with remote options across the United States.

The position requires a technical background in electrical/electronic systems, strong English communication, and experience supporting drive installations and integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of electrical/technical experience or an associate's with 6+ years experience or a high school diploma with 8+ years experience.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work is REQUIRED.
• Ability to troubleshoot drives using electrical principles and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone and email for Low Voltage VFDs, assisting customers and field techs with commissioning and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with the warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorization.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases and solutions using Salesforce Case Management and other tools.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
