Job summary

Ambient Enterprises is seeking a Senior VFD Technician to join our in-house drive specialist team. You will lead startup, commissioning, retrofit, and ongoing service for ABB drive platforms, engaging directly with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

The role emphasizes deep hands-on experience with VFDs, strong electrical knowledge, and ability to operate in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with industrial Variable Frequency Drives.
• ABB VFD platforms experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in startup, commissioning, and field service in industrial/commercial environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Familiarity with Modbus, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead startup and commissioning of new VFD installations; configure parameters and tune motors.
• Coordinate with engineering and customer teams for go-live.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and verify power quality.
