Job summary

SJE Inc. is seeking a VFD Design & Support Engineer in Detroit Lakes, MN. You will design specialized VFD control panels, support new product development, validate performance, and guide the lifecycle with expert engineering input.

You will create schematics, select components, and test products to UL 508A standards, working with engineering, manufacturing, and customer support teams to ensure reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing electrical control systems and industrial control panels.
• Knowledge of motor controls, electrical schematics and water pressure control systems plumbing.
• Familiarity with UL 508A standards and industrial control panel design.
• Experience with Modbus, EtherNet/IP, or PROFIBUS.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems and VFD control panels from scratch.
• Validate designs through hands-on testing in the engineering lab and ensure UL 508A compliance.
• Provide field and technical troubleshooting support to customers and production teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development to improve existing products.
