Job summary

SJE Electrical Control Systems Project Engineer in the Tampa Bay area will design and deliver engineered control panels, focusing on highly engineered Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems for water and wastewater applications.

You will develop submittal packages, lead field start-up, commissioning, and customer training activities, and create BOMs for manufacturing. Travel throughout Florida is frequent, with some remote work possible.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of harmonic filtering technologies.
• Strong field troubleshooting experience with VFD systems.
• Exceptional customer service and customer-facing communication skills.
• Experience preparing project takeoffs and quotation.

Responsibilities

• Design engineered control panels using AutoCAD and develop VFD/SCADA control systems.
• Assemble submittal packages and lead field start-up, commissioning, and customer training.
• Create bills of materials and documentation required to manufacture control panels.
• Collaborate with consulting engineers and contractors to clarify requirements and ensure alignment.
• Support start-up and commissioning of complete VFD systems and Rockwell PLC-based control systems.
