Job summary

SJE is seeking an Electrical Control Systems Project Engineer for the Tampa Bay area. This role focuses on engineered VFD systems for water and wastewater applications, with responsibilities spanning submittal packages, field start-up, and customer training.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year Electrical Engineering degree and 5–10 years of relevant experience, with travel across Florida and occasional remote work possible.

Qualifications

• 4-year Electrical Engineering degree required or preferred.
• Experience with VFD systems and field troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Design engineered control panels using AutoCAD and develop VFD/SCADA control systems.
• Review project specs, prepare BOMs, and document manufacturing requirements.
• Lead field start-up, commissioning, and customer training activities.
• Support start-up and commissioning of complete VFD systems and Rockwell PLC-based controls.
