Job summary

SJE Inc. in Plymouth, MN, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to design electrical control panels and systems for water and wastewater applications, guiding projects from design through manufacturing and delivery.

Using AutoCAD Electrical, you will produce schematics, BOMs, and supporting documentation, collaborating with Project Management, Sales, manufacturing, and Supply Chain to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in electrical controls, industrial automation, or control panel and system design.
• Experience designing custom electrical control panels for water/wastewater and industrial applications.
• Knowledge of UL 508A/698A, NEC, and NFPA requirements for industrial control panels.

Responsibilities

• Design custom electrical control panels and systems for water/wastewater and industrial applications.
• Review project plans, specifications, proposals, and scopes of work to develop compliant solutions.
• Create schematics and control panel drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and prepare BOMs and O&M manuals.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Sales, manufacturing, and Supply Chain to resolve technical questions and keep projects on schedule and budget.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
