Job summary

MSPCA-Angell West is recruiting for a Full-Time Veterinary Technician with supervisory responsibilities in Waltham, MA. The role involves leadership over ECC service staff, scheduling, payroll, and training, while supporting clinicians in triage, stabilization, and nursing care.

Qualified candidates will have MA tech credentials, 3+ years of experience, and a desire to teach and mentor veterinary students and staff in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician within the state of Massachusetts.
• 3 years: Minimum of 3 years of recent veterinary technician experience.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with interviewing, scheduling, training, payroll and inventory is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching and performance evaluation process for all ECC Service Staff.
• Create work schedules, prepare payroll, and process personnel records for Inpatient Service Staff.
• Must have a working knowledge of complex diseases in order to provide nursing care and develop and train member of the ECC team.
• Assist clinicians in triaging, stabilizing, and providing high quality nursing care to patients and offer instruction and demonstration to veterinary students, interns, residents, and other technicians.

Full Time Day or Evening Shift(2:30pm-1am), Rotating Weekends, no major holidays. $2.50/hr additional shift differential for evening shift.

Qualified candidates will have previous supervisory or leadership experience and experience working in emergency veterinary medicine. Compensation:

Starting at $35-$39 hourly, VTS starting at $43/hr.

MSPCA-Angell West, a 24-hour emergency and referral satellite hospital in the west suburbs of Boston, was opened in early 2014 by Angell Animal Medical Center. Our hospital is over 20,000 square feet, and is located 10 miles west of Boston in Waltham.
