Job summary

MSPCA-Angell's Angell West location is seeking an Anesthesia Technician/Assistant to join a fast-paced, client-focused veterinary team. The role requires full-time, 40 hours a week with four 10-hour days, weekday coverage, and occasional weekends and holidays, plus on-call as needed.

The ideal candidate has a passion for veterinary anesthesia, strong clinical knowledge, and a commitment to ongoing staff education in a teaching environment.

Qualifications

• Required: Associates or better in Veterinary Technology.
• Preferred: Bachelors or better.
• Certified Vet Tech license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in anesthesia and veterinary surgery with a strong technical background.
• Mentor and train fellow staff as part of continuing education.
• Contribute to a positive, fast-paced team environment in a specialty hospital setting.

Job description

This is a full time 40 hour a week position; 4 ten hour days, weekdays, some weekend and holiday coverage required. On-Call Coverage as needed.

We are looking for a technician or assistant who has a passion for veterinary surgery and anesthesia. The Anesthesia Technician must have a strong technical background and knowledge of veterinary medicine and recognize the importance of conveying this knowledge and expertise to others. A qualified candidate must be willing to take an active role in the continuing education and training of other staff.

• We guarantee additional pay for over time and on-call.
• We provide a teaching environment for new graduates, CVT’s and VTS candidates.
• We offer a stipend for national/international conferences for our Certified Vet Technicians.

COMPENSATION

Veterinary Assistants starting $24-$29/hour

Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $27-$33/hr

Please note that candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications. We have a $10,000 for day shift for new hire full time technicians credentialed in the state of Massachusetts.
