Job summary

MSPCA-Angell West in Waltham, MA is seeking a qualified Veterinary Technician Supervisor to lead our ECC Service Staff on full-time day or evening shifts, with rotating weekends and a $2.50/hr evening differential. This role offers opportunities to teach and develop a skilled emergency team.

The ideal candidate has MA CVT credentials, at least 3 years of veterinary technician experience, and prior supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a Massachusetts Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).
• Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience.
• Experience in emergency veterinary medicine preferred.
• Associates degree or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hiring, training, coaching and performance evaluations for ECC Service Staff.
• Create work schedules, prepare payroll, and maintain personnel records for Inpatient Service Staff.
• Provide nursing care for complex diseases and train ECC team members.
• Assist clinicians in triage and stabilization, and mentor veterinary students and interns.

Full Time Day or Evening Shift(2:30pm-1am), Rotating Weekends, no major holidays. $2.50/hr additional shift differential for evening shift.

Qualified candidates will have previous supervisory or leadership experience and experience working in emergency veterinary medicine. Responsibilities

• Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching and performance evaluation process for all ECC Service Staff.
• Create work schedules, prepare payroll, and process personnel records for Inpatient Service Staff.
• Must have a working knowledge of complex diseases in order to provide nursing care and develop and train member of the ECC team.
• Assist clinicians in triaging, stabilizing, and providing high quality nursing care to patients and offer instruction and demonstration to veterinary students, interns, residents, and other technicians.

Compensation

Starting at $35-$39 hourly, VTS starting at $43/hr.

MSPCA-Angell West, a 24-hour emergency and referral satellite hospital in the west suburbs of Boston, was opened in early 2014 by Angell Animal Medical Center. Our hospital is over 20,000 square feet, and is located 10 miles west of Boston in Waltham.

Experience

Required

• Applicants must be a Certified Veterinary Technician within the state of Massachusetts to be considered for this position.
• 3 year(s): Minimum of 3 years of recent veterinary technician experience.

Preferred

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Experience with interviewing, scheduling, training, payroll and inventory is preferred.
