Job summary

ASPCA Community Medicine seeks a licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Queens clinic ecosystem. You will perform high-volume spay/neuter and preventive care, assist veterinarians, and provide exam support and client communication.

This on-site role requires NYS licensure, strong animal handling, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting. Must have or obtain NYS Vet Tech license within 30 days; English is required and bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have current New York State Veterinary Technician License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• Surgery/Anesthesia experience preferred
• English (Required) and Spanish bilingual skills preferred
• Graduated from accredited school of veterinary science technology (2 or 4 year program) or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Care for 35-40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery
• Administer injections including anesthetics, pain meds, vaccines
• Intubate animals and place IV catheters
• Monitor vital signs pre-, during, and post-operation
• Maintain medical records and logs
• Enter medical information into digital databases
• Work with ASPCA colleagues and educate clients as needed
• Attend staff trainings and participate in mentoring CM staff
