Job summary

ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic in Queens, NY is seeking a licensed Veterinary Technician to support spay/neuter surgeries and routine care in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting. You will assist with anesthesia, injections, IVs, patient monitoring, and treatment administration, collaborating closely with CM veterinarians and staff.

Must hold a NYS Veterinary Technician license (or obtain within 30 days), be able to lift 40+ pounds, stand 8+ hours, and work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from accredited school of veterinary science technology (2 or 4 year program) or equivalent as determined by the NYS Education Department.
• Current New York State Veterinary Technician License or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Experience with anesthesia and surgery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for 35-40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery.
• Assist with anesthesia, injections, IVs, and patient monitoring.
• Maintain proper drug logs and patient records.
• Provide client communication about conditions and procedures.
• Attend staff trainings and collaborate with CM team.
