Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Shift Lead for overnight coverage. You will supervise the ER team, coordinate patient flow, and support doctors to ensure timely, high-quality care for all emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ER experience in a lead/supervisor role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift personnel to ensure high-quality work output.
• Review patient/doctor issues in real time for expeditious resolution.

• Maintain Triage Board and ensure proper rounds as patients transfer.
• Manage ED resources and train staff as needed.
• Serve as primary key-holder or Cubex resource when required.

Compensation: $29/hr - $41/hr + $2/hr shift lead differential, $3/hr overnight differential, and $2/hr weekend differential

Job Purpose:

• Provide primary point of contact through which all technical questions, comments, concerns, and issues can be handled
• Decrease the time spent by doctors and technical staff replicating responsibilities or missing duties by providing oversight for all technical employees in the moment

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the individuals working on any given shift to ensure their work product is excellent
• Review any patient / doctor issues that come up in the moment to allow for expedient and satisfactory resolution
• Assign patients to the appropriate group based upon case severity and knowledge of technical skill level of group technical employees
• Updating full patient census forms and patient board regularly during shift
• Updating Triage Board as necessary in a Triage-Center-In-Certification-Process Hospital
• Ensure rounds are being appropriately handled as patients are transferred from one person to the next
• Acts as primary person for resource management of technical staff within the Emergency Department
• As assigned by the Technician Manager, trains staff in any technical areas requested
• Responsible for being primary key-holder OR Cubex resource as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of ER experience in a lead/supervisor role
