Job summary

ACCESS Los Angeles, located in Culver City, CA, is seeking a Veterinary Technician – Emergency, Day shift to join our 24-hour emergency team. You will support veterinarians, perform routine outpatients, and assist with surgeries as needed in a fast-paced hospital.

This role offers opportunities for growth through Thrive Pet Healthcare programs, with a focus on high-quality patient care and client education. Prior RVT preferred and a minimum of 3 years veterinary experience required.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Act for credentialed technicians.
• Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain medical records with practice systems support.
• Obtain health history and update medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.

As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. In the emergency department there is something new every day!

Role Responsibilities:

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• With each hospital function,assistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
• Assistwith surgeries and proceduresin accordance withyour state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance onThrive Membershipoptions, medications, andadditionaltreatments.
• Assistinmaintainingrelevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

Non Credentialed Assistants$21/hr - $36/hr

Licensed Technicians-$26/hr - $42/hr

VTS- $43/hr - $45/hr
