Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support Vetco Total Care services in a full-time role. You will work closely with veterinarians to deliver high-quality patient care and exceptional client service across our hospital team.

The position emphasizes compassionate patient handling, meticulous record keeping, and collaboration within a busy, supportive environment. Training and growth within Petco’s veterinary services are available.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year experience as a Veterinary Technician or working in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate and sympathetic and maintain professionalism in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, escort to exam room, obtain weight and vital signs, and record in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, collect and process laboratory samples, and handle medications as directed by the veterinarian.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, update inventory and client/patient records, and manage accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor during anesthesia, then discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments, ensure patient comfort, and maintain hospital cleanliness.
