Responsibilities include recording medical history, assisting with surgery, anesthesia, medications, and maintaining records, inventory, and a welcoming clinic environment.

Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state.
• At least 1 year experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and sympathetic with professional demeanor.
• Telephone and computer skills required.
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vital signs, record in the EMR and history.
• Assist veterinarian with routine and emergency appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Perform patient restraint, collect laboratory samples, handle medications, and update EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, maintain records and inventory.
• Prepare patients for surgery, monitor anesthesia, record vital parameters and recovery details.
• Provide in-hospital treatments, administer medications, and support patient care.
• Train new staff and share knowledge as required.
• Keep hospital clean and maintain maintenance schedule.
