Job summary

CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our team in Texas. A Veterinary Technician Assistant role may be considered with at least 1 year of experience. Compensation is based on experience and education.

Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians, preparing patients for surgery, restraining animals, obtaining samples, testing, and communicating with clients. We value compassion, efficiency, and teamwork in a vet-led clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to properly and safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication & listening skills.
• Self-motivated & team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians - prep patients for surgery, monitor post-op, restrain animals during exams.
• Obtain samples - stool, blood, and other samples for testing.
• Testing - test samples and help interpret results.
• Administer medications - dosages, anesthesia, vaccines as directed.
• Client communication - obtain medical information and provide care instructions to clients.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
