Bayhill Equine in the San Francisco Peninsula is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our ambulatory team. If you love horses, enjoy outdoor work, and thrive in a fast-paced setting, we’d love to hear from you.

You will assist veterinarians, operate diagnostic equipment (digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy), and safely handle horses during exams, treatments, and farm calls.

Qualifications

• Strong horse handling experience across various behavioral and medical situations.
• Valid California driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn veterinary software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Prepare, operate, and maintain diagnostic equipment (digital radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy).
• Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used equine medications, treatments, and veterinary techniques.
• Safely handle horses in trot, lunging, and management of sedated or anxious/reactive horses.
• Drive company vehicles to farm calls.
• Maintain inventory, cleanliness, and organization of ambulatory vehicles.
• Assist with medical records documentation and invoice entry.
• Support the team in providing outstanding client service and patient care.

Bayhill Equine is a fully ambulatory equine veterinary practice specializing in sports medicine and serving the San Francisco Peninsula. We are seeking a compassionate, hardworking, and team-oriented Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Prepare, operate, and maintain specialized diagnostic equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used equine medications, treatments, and veterinary techniques.
• Safely handle horses in a variety of situations, including trotting, lunging, and managing horses under sedation or those that may be anxious or reactive.
• Drive company vehicles to farm calls throughout the service area.
• Maintain inventory, cleanliness, and organization of ambulatory vehicles.
• Assist with medical record documentation and invoice entry.
• Support the team in providing outstanding client service and patient care.

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong horse handling experience, including trotting, lunging, and confidently working around horses in various behavioral and medical situations.
• Valid California driver's license with dependable transportation.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn veterinary software.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to remain organized, adaptable, and effective in a fast‑paced setting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including participation in evening and weekend on‑call emergency rotations.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in veterinary medicine or equine veterinary practice is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base hourly rate of $21.00–$26.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
