The ideal candidate is comfortable around horses, values a clean facility, and can work independently while following hospital protocols.

Qualifications

  • Previous horse-handling and equine experience required.
  • Comfortable handling horses of varying temperaments and sizes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be comfortable with physically demanding work, including lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Experience in a veterinary or hospital setting is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Hand-walk hospitalized horses as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Feed and water horses according to individual patient instructions.
  • Clean and maintain stalls, aisles and treatment areas.
  • Restock hay, grain, bedding/shavings, and other hospital supplies.
  • Drag and maintain the arena.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
  • Follow all hospital safety procedures and patient-care protocols.
  • Perform other stable and hospital duties as needed.

Fairfield Equine Associates is seeking a dependable and hardworking Equine Hospital Stable Hand to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment while providing daily care and support for our equine patients.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working around horses, takes pride in maintaining a clean facility, and can work independently while following veterinary instructions and hospital protocols.

Schedule (can be divided):

Monday-Sunday: 6am to 9am and 4pm to 7pm

Responsibilities
  • Hand-walk hospitalized horses as directed by the veterinary team
  • Feed and water horses according to individual patient instructions
  • Clean and maintain stalls, aisles and treatment areas
  • Restock hay, grain, bedding/shavings, and other hospital supplies
  • Drag and maintain the arena
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment
  • Follow all hospital safety procedures and patient-care protocols
  • Perform other stable and hospital duties as needed
