Expectations of an Emergency Manager :
- Responsible for upholding the principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion, and Service in all interactions
- Set standards for support and enforce quality control throughout the hospital
- Support all hospital administration in client, employee, and financial matters
- Provide primary point of contact through which all client service questions, comments, concerns, and issues can be handled
- Provide primary point of contact through which all technical questions, comments, concerns and issues can be handled during overnight hours
- Provide overall support to all staff working overnight, including doctors
- This is a salary/exempt position reporting directly to the Hospital Administrator
Role Responsibilities:• Oversee all individuals working swing and overnight shifts to ensure their work product is excellent
• Receive, review, and resolve problems or concerns brought up regarding the performance of the client care and technical staff
• Responsible for handling all client/ doctor grievances during overnight hours
• Oversight of technical staff performance, ensuring quality control and consistency of technical task completion
• Oversight of client care staff performance, ensuring quality control and consistency of client service task completion
• Performance of staff review on a regular basis to ensure staff members are provided clear expectations and understand how to perform compared to expectations
• As needed, perform employee counseling, reprimands, or give accolades. Provide guidance and direction to all overnight team members, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
• Communicate with Inventory Manager and other Tech Managers on equipment performance and maintenance to ensure necessary functionality
• Work closely with the entire administrative team to ensure consistent practices throughout all shifts
• Communicate any performance and/or behavioral concerns of the doctors to the Hospital Administrator and Medical Director to be addressed
• Act as primary person for resource management of overnight staff
• The ability to train overnight staff in various areas of client service and technical capacities pertinent to working on those shifts
- Coordinate any overnight facility management efforts as assigned
- Ensuring the Cubex is stocked sufficiently throughout the night
- Oversee smooth transfer of patients from swing to overnight to morning shifts
- Responsible for making sure the overnight staff is adequately informed of any new information
- Responsible for rolling out any new protocols and/or procedures to ensure consistency throughout all shifts
- Motivate and inspire the overnight team members to provide high quality care to the patients and clients of TPHS Hoffman Estates, while working to ensure that actions support the hospital, doctors, and the hospital principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion, and Service
Experience & Skills Requirements:- Minimum of 5 years of veterinary experience, emergency experience required
- CVT preferred
- Must have detailed knowledge of the client care and technical staff job functions and workflow systems
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess strong decision-making skills
- Leadership experience required
- Must have a flexible schedule - nights, weekends, and some holidays required

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience- $80,000-90,000/year. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
