Expectations of an Emergency Manager:
- Uphold the principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion, and Service in all interactions.
- Set standards for support and enforce quality control throughout the hospital.
- Support hospital administration in client, employee, and financial matters.
- Serve as the primary contact for client service questions, comments, concerns, and issues.
- Handle technical questions, comments, concerns, and issues during overnight hours.
- Provide overall support to all staff working overnight, including doctors.
- This is a salaried/exempt position reporting directly to the Hospital Administrator.
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversee all individuals working the swing and overnight shifts to ensure excellent work quality.
- Review and resolve problems or concerns regarding staff performance.
- Manage client and doctor grievances during overnight hours.
- Monitor technical staff performance, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Evaluate client care staff performance regularly, providing clear expectations and feedback.
- Conduct employee counseling, reprimands, or accolades as needed, and set performance standards.
- Coordinate with Inventory and Tech Managers on equipment performance and maintenance.
- Work with the administrative team to ensure consistent practices across shifts.
- Communicate performance or behavioral concerns of doctors to the Hospital Administrator and Medical Director.
- Manage resource allocation for overnight staff.
- Train overnight staff in client service and technical capacities.
- Coordinate overnight facility management efforts.
- Ensure the Cube is stocked throughout the night.
- Oversee smooth patient transfer from swing to overnight and morning shifts.
- Inform overnight staff of new information and protocols to ensure consistency.
- Motivate and inspire the overnight team to provide high-quality care, supporting hospital principles.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of veterinary experience, emergency experience required.
- CVT preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of client care and technical staff workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Leadership experience required.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, typically ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 annually. The actual offer will consider various factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
