Job summary

Metropolitan Animal Emergency & Specialty Center is seeking full-time Veterinary Technicians to join the Dayshift Emergency team in Rockville, MD, within the Thrive Pet Healthcare network. You will triage urgent cases, perform diagnostics, monitor critical patients, and support treatments while guiding clients through every step of their pet's emergency visit.

You should have at least 2 years of clinical veterinary technician experience; CVT/RVT/LVT is preferred, with strong anesthesia skills

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary technician experience.
  • CVT/RVT/LVT certification preferred.
  • Emergency veterinary setting experience preferred.
  • Strong anesthesia skills including BP, ECG, SpO2, and EtCO2 monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Triage urgent cases and perform diagnostic testing.
  • Monitor critical patients and assist treatments and procedures.
  • Guide clients through the emergency visit process.

Metropolitan Animal Emergency & Specialty Center is looking for full-time Veterinary Technicians to join our Dayshift Emergency team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Rockville, MD.

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by delivering exceptional care to patients in our dynamic Emergency Department. Your life-changing work will range from triaging urgent cases and performing diagnostic testing to monitoring critical patients, supporting treatments and procedures, and guiding clients through every step of their pet's emergency visit.

Your Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care)
  • CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) preferred
  • Experience in an Emergency Veterinary Setting strongly preferred
  • Has strong anesthesia skills (Able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care)
  • Possesses a positive work attitude
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and organization skills

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $27 - $30/ hour. The actual compensation will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
