Job summary

CARE Veterinary Center in Frederick, MD, is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Daytime Emergency team as part of Thrive Pet Healthcare.

You will deliver fast-paced, end-to-end care for emergency patients, from triage to admissions coordination and safe patient transitions. This role emphasizes anesthesia, critical monitoring, and clear communication within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care).
  • Must have availability to work Dayshift.
  • Experience in an Emergency setting strongly preferred.
  • Has strong anesthesia skills (Able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, SpO2, and EtCO2 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care).
  • Possesses a positive work attitude
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and organization skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on triage and monitoring for emergency patients.

Job description

CARE Veterinary Center is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Daytime Emergency team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Frederick, MD.

You’ll play a critical role in pets' lives by delivering fast-paced, end-to-end care for emergency patients. Your life‑saving work will range from hands‑on triage, monitoring critical cases, and performing advanced diagnostics, to essential support services including coordinating admissions, managing overnight treatments and ensuring safe patient transitions.

Your Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care)
  • CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) preferred
  • Must have availability to work Dayshift

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $20 - $26 / hour. The actual compensation will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
