Care Veterinary Center in Frederick, MD is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Daytime Emergency team within Thrive Pet Healthcare. You will deliver fast-paced, end-to-end care for emergency patients, including triage, monitoring of critical cases, advanced diagnostics, coordinating admissions, overnight treatments and ensuring smooth patient transitions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician
• CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) preferred
• Must have availability to work Dayshift
• Experience in an Emergency setting strongly preferred
• Has strong anesthesia skills (monitoring BP, ECG, SpO2, EtCO2) and integrate clinical signs with disease processes
• Excellent communication and organization skills

• Triage and initial stabilization of emergency patients
• Monitor critical cases and perform advanced diagnostics
• Coordinate admissions and manage overnight treatments
• Ensure safe patient transitions and handoffs to doctors

CARE Veterinary Center is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Daytime Emergency team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Frederick, MD.

About You

You’ll play a critical role in pets' lives by delivering fast-paced, end-to-end care for emergency patients. Your life-saving work will range from hands-on triage, monitoring critical cases, and performing advanced diagnostics, to essential support services including coordinating admissions, managing overnight treatments and ensuring safe patient transitions.

Your Experience & Skills

Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care)

CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) preferred

Must have availability to work Dayshift

Experience in an Emergency setting strongly preferred

Has strong anesthesia skills (Able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care)

Possesses a positive work attitude

Self-motivated

Excellent communication and organization skills

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $20 – $26 / hour. The actual compensation will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
