Job summary

Petco is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital team. You will provide high-quality veterinary care and exceptional customer service to pet owners, supporting doctors and hospital staff in a fast-paced environment.

You will greet clients, assist with exams and procedures, document in the EMR, and help manage medications, anesthesia, and post-operative care. A compassionate, team-focused attitude is essential for success at Petco.

Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
• At least 1 year of veterinary technician experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient demeanor and professional attitude.
• Strong telephone and computer skills.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain vitals, and record histories in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Handle medications, perform patient restraint, and maintain EMR accuracy.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, and manage client/patient records and accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and provide post-procedure care.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and maintain patient cleanliness and safety.
