Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality patient care at the Vetco Total Care full-service hospital and outstanding support to clients and their pets.

You will work closely with veterinarians to perform procedures, monitor anesthesia, document visits, and educate owners, while contributing to a cohesive, motivated team. Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education required to be a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state.
• At least 1 year of previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor under emotional/stressful situations.
• Telephone and computer skills.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain vitals, and document patient history in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Restrain patients, collect samples, handle medications, and maintain records.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay results, and manage records and accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and care, including injections and IV therapies.
• Participate in training new staff and maintain a clean, organized hospital environment.
• Perform additional duties and provide backup phone/front desk support as needed.
