Job summary

Crooked Creek Animal Hospital in Pelahatchie, MS, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to join a compassionate team. You’ll assist with restraint, triage, lab work, diagnostics, nursing care, surgical support, and anesthesia monitoring, while communicating treatment plans clearly to clients.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience as Veterinary Technician Assistant
  • Large animal experience a plus
  • Compassionate and calm team player
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication and proper pet restraint skills
  • Proficiency in sample collection, histories, lab tests, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring bonus
  • Self-starter eager to grow knowledge and skills

  • Monday - Friday: 7:30am-5:30pm
  • Saturday: 8:00am-10:00am*

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Qualifications
  • An experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant with a minimum of 2-years experience preferred.
  • Experience working with large animals is a plus, but is not required.
  • Compassionate and calm team player.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong communication skills.Must be able to properly restrain pets.
  • Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
