Job summary

Riverwalk Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant with at least 1 year of experience to join a dedicated team. You will restrain patients, collect samples, perform radiographs, and assist in medical and surgical cases while communicating treatment plans to clients.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals, triage incoming patients, collect and analyze lab samples.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans with clients.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
• Support ongoing training and development for veterinary staff.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

We’re looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Pay Range:$18-$20/hr

Position Type:Full-time

**Position requires late afternoon to evening availability. One weekend day required.**

Hours of Operation:

We're open 7 days a week until 10 PM.

• Mon-Fri: 9:00AM - 10:00PM
• Sat: 12:00PM - 10:00PM
• Sun: 12:00PM - 10:00PM
