Veterinary Technician / Assistant

Long Island Spay and Neuter is seeking 2 full-time experienced Veterinary Technicians. We pride ourselves on practicing quality, gold-standard medicine. We offer a full range of veterinary services, including preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, and specialty treatments. We are looking for dedicated and experienced veterinary technicians to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will provide comprehensive care, assist in surgeries, perform diagnostic procedures, and educate clients about animal health. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review patient medical records and update in the system.
• Take medical histories and vital signs.
• Maintain client educational materials.
• Admit and discharge patients.
• Manage prescription refills and communicate with pharmacies.
• Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
• Administer medications as needed.
• Perform blood draws and place catheters.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily and multi-task. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED, with 1-2 years related experience or training. Licensed Veterinary Technicians in New York are preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
