Position Summary
Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing role, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units. Individuals with experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc., are often successful in this role after training.

Duties
At STERIS, our Equipment Service Technicians represent our company by ensuring excellent service for our customers. In this field-based, customer-facing role, you will travel to hospitals and surgical facilities to maintain, troubleshoot, service, and support installation of STERIS products such as steam sterilizers and medical equipment washers. Your goal is to drive customer satisfaction through proactive communication and effective resolution of issues.
Required Experience
High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years of work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical or technical role (e.g., mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, automotive).
Additional Qualifications
Associates degree, related certifications, technical training, or military experience in a relevant field may be considered towards the technical experience requirement.
