Position Focus:
Responsible for insurance follow-up on carrier denials, focusing on coding denials for Yale Medicine. Acts as a liaison for denied and no-response claims to maximize reimbursements. Tasks include reviewing carrier denials, appealing denials, communicating with insurance carriers, and collaborating with Yale Medicine staff to resolve claims issues.

Essential Duties:
Manage accounts receivable, oversee account files, resolve problem accounts, recommend system improvements, and perform clerical functions related to account activity.

Required Education and Experience:
Four years of related work experience (two in the same job family at the next lower level) with high school diploma, or two years of related experience with an Associate's degree, or equivalent.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of CPT, ICD10, HCPCS, modifiers, NCCI edits, MUEs; proficiency in Microsoft Office; data entry skills; attention to detail; ability to work independently and in teams; strong communication skills; excellent attendance; high energy and motivation under pressure.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with EPIC, current CPC certification.
