Purrfect Care Feline Medical Center in Columbus, OH is hiring a Veterinary Receptionist to be the welcoming face of the clinic and keep daily operations running smoothly for a feline-focused team.

You will greet clients, manage appointments, handle payments, and coordinate with the veterinary team to ensure excellent client service and patient care. A passion for cats and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Customer service or front desk experience preferred.
• Passion for cats and patient, friendly and professional demeanor.
• Strong communication and listening skills in person and over the phone.
• Empathy and patience with clients and coworkers; team player.
• Ability to multitask in a busy clinic environment.
• Basic computer skills; experience with veterinary software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their cats warmly, check them in/out.
• Answer phones, return messages, respond to client questions clearly.
• Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar.
• Process payments, estimates, and invoices accurately.
• Maintain and update medical records and client information.
• Coordinate prescription and food requests with the medical team.
• Communicate with veterinarians and technicians about patient flow.
• Support clients compassionately during emotional moments.

Position Details

Role: Veterinary Receptionist

Status: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday, 9 am - 6pm; Thursday, 11 am - 7 pm; one half-day Saturday shift a month

What Our Veterinary Receptionists Do

• Greet clients and their cats warmly and check them in and out efficiently
• Answer phones, return messages, and respond to client questions with care and clarity
• Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar to keep the clinic on track
• Process payments, estimates, and invoices accurately
• Maintain and update medical records and client information
• Handle prescription and food requests and coordinate them with the medical team
• Communicate clearly with veterinarians and technicians about patient flow and client needs
• Support clients with compassion during emotional moments, including difficult diagnoses and end-of-life care
• Keep the front desk and reception area clean, organized, and calm for anxious feline patients

What You’ll Bring

• Customer service, reception, or front desk experience; veterinary experience is a plus but not required
• A genuine passion for pets, especially cats, that shows up every day
• Strong communication and listening skills, on the phone and in person
• Empathy and patience with clients, coworkers, and yourself
