Job summary

Purrfect Care Feline Medical Center is a cats-only practice focused on progressive, feline-specific medicine. As our Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll be the friendly voice and welcoming face of our clinic, keeping the day running smoothly and supporting our clinical team.

You’ll greet clients, schedule appointments, process payments, and maintain medical records with empathy for both clients and their feline patients. This full-time role emphasizes work-life balance and a caring team culture.

Qualifications

  • Customer service, reception, or front desk experience; veterinary experience is a plus but not required.
  • A genuine passion for cats that shows up every day.
  • Strong communication and listening skills, on the phone and in person.
  • Empathy and patience with clients, coworkers, and yourself.
  • A positive, team-first attitude and a willingness to ask for and offer help.
  • Strong organization and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with veterinary practice management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their cats warmly and check them in and out efficiently.
  • Answer phones, return messages, and respond to client questions with care and clarity.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar to keep the clinic on track.
  • Process payments, estimates, and invoices accurately.
  • Maintain and update medical records and client information.
  • Handle prescription and food requests and coordinate them with the medical team.
  • Communicate clearly with veterinarians and technicians about patient flow and client needs.
  • Support clients with compassion during emotional moments, including difficult diagnoses and end-of-life care.
  • Keep the front desk and reception area clean, organized, and calm for anxious feline patients.

Position Details

Role: Veterinary Receptionist

Status: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday, 9 am - 6pm; Thursday, 11 am - 7 pm; one half-day Saturday shift a month
