Cat Care of Rochester Hills, part of Vetcor, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist who brings warmth, organization, and excellent communication to the front desk. In a fast-paced cat-only practice with Fear Free and Cat Friendly approaches, you will manage appointments, check-in/out, handle payments, and support the medical team while delivering a compassionate client experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist.
• Strong customer service and client communication skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Experience coordinating appointments, managing schedules, and supporting efficient clinic flow.
• Safe and compassionate patient-handling skills with an emphasis on low-stress or Fear Free techniques.
• Comfort learning and using veterinary practice management software, including Avimark.
• A positive, supportive approach and commitment to teamwork and mutual respect.
• A desire to grow professionally while encouraging the growth of others.
• A genuine appreciation for cats and the people who love them.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and efficiently manage a multi-doctor calendar.
• Check patients in and out while maintaining accurate client and patient information.
• Collect payments and process invoices and returns.
• Handle prescription and refill requests according to hospital protocols.
• Manage appointment flow and communicate effectively with the medical team.
• Recognize situations that may require same-day evaluation, urgent or emergency care, or routine scheduling based on established hospital protocols.
• Create a positive, compassionate experience for clients and their cats.
• Support safe and effective patient handling using low-stress or Fear Free techniques when needed.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to keep the hospital organized and running smoothly.
