Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software preferred.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, vaccines, and basic diagnostics.
• Proficiency in scheduling, multi-line phones, medical records, and payments.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to handle high-volume client interactions.
• Comfortable handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update records, confirm appointments.
• Answer multi-line phone system and manage inquiries about scheduling, refills, records, and hospital information.
• Process payments, post charges, and schedule follow-ups at checkout.
• Communicate medical information accurately and compassionately, including end-of-life discussions.
• Maintain accurate EMR and data entry in PIMS or equivalent system.
• Coordinate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Maintain clean and organized reception area and waiting room.
