Overview

Orchid Springs Animal Hospital has an opportunity for a Part Time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team!

Location: 615 Overlook Dr. Winter Haven, Florida 33884

Compensation: $17 / hr

Job Summary: The Receptionist is the first and last contact that a client will have with the hospital and plays a key role in creating first and lasting impressions. The Receptionist must have exceptional client service and communication skills, computer literacy, ability to handle payment and financial issues, multi-tasking skills, a friendly attitude, and confidence to deal with stressful situations. The Receptionist will support veterinarians, technicians, assistants, groomers, and kennel staff in daily patient and client care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
• Greet clients and pets warmly, with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
• Answer phones promptly and professionally, providing basic animal care information and routine procedures, and offering knowledgeable advice on wellness, prevention, and diseases.
• Screen and route calls, take and deliver messages, and manage medical records documentation.
• Schedule appointments and surgeries, and make confirmation calls.
• Document details of client conversations in medical records.
• Enter accurate charges, explain invoices, and communicate services and products to clients.
• Collect payments, process credit cards, and verify client charge account eligibility.
• Update and verify client contact information and scan new documents into records.
• Fill prescriptions, provide routine administration instructions, and advise on retail products.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to MVP core values.
• Proficiency in computer use, including email and internet.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, with proper pronunciation, spelling, and understanding.
• Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to handle emotional situations tactfully and respectfully.
