As a Receptionist, you will:

  • Handle client calls for scheduling appointments.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks calmly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate client and pet records, including referral and medical histories.
  • Assist clients with instructions, information, invoices, dispense prescriptions as directed by veterinarians, and schedule future appointments.
  • Use hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Manage hospital finances by accurately processing transactions, following cash and credit procedures, and adhering to opening and closing protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service and professional communication.
  • Educate clients on pet health, preventative care, and hospital services to advocate for pets.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and teammates.
  • Show empathy and treat pets with compassion and respect.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Possess knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
  • Be flexible with scheduling, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  • Work independently and accept direction on tasks.
  • Organizational skills are essential.
  • Apply critical thinking to analyze and solve problems.
  • Communicate effectively, exercise good judgment, and manage stressful situations.

Compensation and benefits include:

  • Pay range of $13.35-$20.90/hour, based on experience.
