Job description

Golden Triangle Animal Hospital is located just outside of Dallas in Southlake, Texas. We are an AAHA accredited hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats. Golden Triangle Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital and welcomes patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. We also offer boarding and daycare services. As a Receptionist, you will:

  • Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling purposes.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, such as referral documentation and medical history.
  • Assist all clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions as per veterinarian’s instructions, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
  • Manage the hospital's financial transactions, ensuring accurate balances, following cash and credit procedures, and proper opening and closing protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with clients.
  • Educate clients on pet health, preventative care, and hospital services to advocate for pets.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and teammates.
  • Show empathy and respect toward clients and pets.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Possess knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
  • Have a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  • Work independently and accept guidance on tasks.
  • Organize and prioritize effectively.
  • Apply critical thinking to identify solutions and evaluate options.
  • Possess strong communication skills, good judgment, and stress management abilities.

Pay ranges from $16 to $20 per hour, based on experience, with benefits including health care, retirement plans, life insurance, short-term disability, paid time off, educational assistance, free telehealth services, veterinary care discounts, an employee assistance program, and opportunities for career growth within a large network of veterinary professionals.
