Job summary

Southern Veterinary Center in Smyrna, TN is seeking a friendly veterinary receptionist to be the first point of contact for clients and patients, ensuring a welcoming and organized front desk.

You will answer phones, check clients in and out, handle payments, coordinate prescription refills, and support the veterinary team with daily administrative tasks while maintaining accurate records. Ideal candidates communicate professionally and adapt in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary or medical office is a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

As the first point of contact for our clients, you’ll help create a welcoming and professional atmosphere while keeping our busy front desk running smoothly.

• Handling large cash and credit transactions accurately
• Communicating with pet owners in person and by phone
• Managing prescription refills and coordinating with our online pharmacy
• Maintaining accurate client and patient records
• Supporting the veterinary team with daily administrative needs

Ideal Candidate:

• Friendly, professional, and able to multitask in a busy environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable using computers and learning veterinary software
• Previous veterinary or medical office experience is a plus
• Fluency in Spanish a plus!

Compensation and Schedule:

Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience. $14-$18

Schedule: 2-4 week days 7:30-5:30. 1-2 Saturdays a month 8:00-12:00.
