Job description

Foster Creek Veterinary Hospital is located in Richmond, Texas. Just less than 30 miles outside of Houston, Richmond has a rapidly growing population and a lot to offer its residents. We are a full-service animal hospital welcoming pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. As a Receptionist, you will:
  1. Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling purposes.
  2. Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  3. Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, such as referral documentation and medical history.
  4. Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions, and scheduling appointments.
  5. Use hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
  6. Manage the hospital's financial transactions, including collections and cash handling, following proper procedures.
  7. Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally.
  8. Educate clients on preventative care, pet health needs, and hospital services to advocate for pets.
  9. Maintain a positive attitude and show empathy toward clients and pets.
  10. Utilize standard office equipment.
  11. Possess knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
  12. Work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  13. Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  14. Work independently and accept guidance on tasks.
  15. Demonstrate organizational skills and critical thinking.
  16. Possess strong communication skills and good judgment to handle stressful situations.
