As a Receptionist, you will:
- Receive and make calls to clients for scheduling purposes.
- Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
- Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, including referral documentation and medical history.
- Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions per veterinarian’s instructions, and scheduling appointments.
- Use hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and team members.
- Manage financial transactions accurately, follow cash and credit procedures, and handle opening and closing procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally.
- Educate clients on pet preventative care, health needs, and hospital services.
- Maintain a positive attitude and show empathy towards clients and pets.
- Utilize standard office equipment effectively.
- Possess knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
- Work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
- Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
- Work independently and accept instructions on tasks.
- Organize tasks efficiently.
- Apply critical thinking to identify solutions and approaches to problems.
- Communicate effectively with strong verbal and written skills, exercise good judgment, and manage stressful situations.
