Job summary

Grand Avenue Veterinary Hospital in West Des Moines, Iowa, is seeking a Practice Manager to oversee essential business functions in a veterinary setting and partner with the MDVM to ensure high client satisfaction and quality patient care.

You'll lead operations across HR, budgeting, marketing, and IT, manage staff scheduling, compliance, and vendor relationships, and work with Heartland's recruiting and support teams to grow the practice responsibly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree a plus.
• Practice Manager Certification a plus.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• On-site position with weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee practice financial performance and revenue growth.
• Manage expenses including pharmacy, supplies, labor, and facility.
• Ensure proper inventory management and pricing accuracy.
• Collaborate with MDVM to maintain compliant medical records.
• Review client feedback and drive improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Heartland Marketing on strategy and local outreach.
• Ensure adequate staffing and work with Recruiting to fill openings.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations and salary reviews.
