Job summary

University of Florida’s Small Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician I/II (CARE) to support the Medical Oncology service. Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians, handling patient intake and discharges, venipuncture, sample collection, and coordinating with other services.

The role offers potential for specialty certification and advancement within the CARE program. Shifts run Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an AVMA-accredited program for veterinary technology or be a credentialed veterinary technician.
• High school diploma or equivalent with related experience for Technician I eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams and treatments.
• Support Medical Oncology service and students.
• Perform nursing tasks: venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, medication administration.
• Document in electronic medical records.
• Support chemotherapy clinic operations and scheduling.
• Adhere to safety protocols and PPE guidance.
