Job summary

Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in Florida is seeking a Veterinary Technician – Oncology (Daytime) to provide end-to-end care for our patients, from outpatient treatments to laboratory tests, while supporting admitting and discharge processes.

The role requires veterinary technician licensure and 1–2 years of oncology experience, with AVMA-accredited education preferred, and a focus on maintaining accurate medical records and client education.

Qualifications

• Veterinary technician licensure required.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience in oncology services.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or equivalent education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on medication and additional treatments.
• Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records with the practice system.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Compensation

Negotiable hourly pay starting at $25 per hour, based on credentials and experience.
